Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Pay: $16/hour for daytime shifts, $17/hour for nighttime shifts
Location: Hampton, VA
Work Schedule:
Mondays-Thursdays: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM; 10:30 PM – 8:30 AM
Fridays: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM; 10:30 PM – 7:30 AM
Saturdays & Sundays: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM; 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM; 10:30 PM – 8:30 AM

We are seeking compassionate and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide individualized care, support, and supervision to individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). DSPs will assist with daily activities, foster skill development, promote mental wellness, and ensure health and safety while empowering individuals to thrive in their communities
Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, and hygiene.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor health, reporting any concerns to appropriate team members.
- Support individuals in achieving their goals as outlined in their Individualized Service Plans (ISPs).
- Facilitate skill-building activities such as cooking, budgeting, and communication.
- Encourage community involvement by accompanying individuals to appointments, events, and social activities.
- Implement behavior support and crisis intervention plans to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services, activities, incidents, and progress in compliance with organizational and state regulations.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to meet individuals' needs.
- Ensure health and safety by following all guidelines, protocols, and state-mandated standards.
- Participate in training, staff meetings, and continuing education to stay updated on best practices in the field.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of direct care experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) or related populations
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- CPR/First Aid and TOVA certifications (or willingness to obtain).
