Garry Executive Search is partnering with a fast-growing acquirer of wealth management firms to identify an exceptional Strategic Relationship Director. Our client, a subsidiary of a leading financial services organization that supports more than $112bn in AUA and 1,300 independent financial advisors, takes a relationship-based approach to partnering with and supporting best-in-class wealth managers across the United States.
As Strategic Relationship Director, you'll be an architect of success for wealth management firms within our client's growing community. You'll work directly with firm leaders to drive strategic initiatives, ensure profitability, and create sustainable growth. This is an opportunity to shape the future of partner firms while working with some of the industry's most successful wealth managers.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary strategic advisor to managing directors and key financial advisors
- Build and nurture trust-based relationships with firm leaders while driving accountability
- Foster data-driven, high-integrity corporate cultures within partner firms
- Design and execute multi-year business plans aligned with firm objectives
Business Growth & Innovation
- Partner with managing directors to optimize financial and operational performance
- Implement strategic initiatives across the network
- Drive adoption of cutting-edge tools and solutions to enhance efficiency
- Identify and facilitate merger opportunities and best practice sharing
Strategic Planning & Risk Management
- Lead succession planning initiatives and sub-acquisition integrations
- Provide strategic oversight of key agreements and obligations
- Monitor and report on firm performance metrics
- Identify and manage key business risks proactively
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in wealth management/RIA industry operations or general management
- Track record of successful partnerships with C-suite executives and wealth management leaders
- Strong financial acumen and strategic planning capabilities
- Outstanding relationship management and executive coaching abilities
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strategic mindset with ability to influence cross-functional outcomes
- Detail-oriented approach with strong follow-through
- Willingness to travel up to 50% within territory
Education
- Bachelor's degree required
- MBA preferred
- Relevant experience in relationship management, financial advisory, or business consulting
