This role is responsible for leading Human Resources processes for a mining construction project, while providing expert guidance to the HR team based in Latam. The position ensures that recruitment, hiring, compensation, and labor relations practices align with local U.S. regulations and market standards.
Lead recruitment efforts for both local and international talent.
Advise on applicable federal and state labor laws related to the project.
Design and validate hiring strategies, including expatriates and local hires.
Evaluate payroll options (in-house vs. outsourced), taking into account tax and legal implications.
Identify legal work eligibility requirements, worker verification, and immigration permits.
Analyze union practices and labor regulations within the construction and mining sectors.
Propose competitive and legally compliant compensation and benefits structures.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Law, Business Administration, or related fields.
Specialized studies in U.S. labor legislation are preferred.
Minimum of 8 years in Human Resources.
Proven experience with U.S.-based companies or projects, ideally within the construction or mining sectors.
Experience working in multinational environments or managing expatriate programs, international hiring, and complex labor relations.
