We are seeking a passionate and proactive Community Outreach Coordinator to help expand our reach, build partnerships, and engage with the broader community.
Position Overview:
The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for fostering strong relationships with parents, businesses, organizations, and the community to promote Gateway Academy’s programs, events, and fundraising initiatives. This role plays a crucial part in increasing public awareness of our school’s mission, securing sponsorships, and driving engagement in our outreach activities.
Key Responsibilities: Community Engagement & Relationship Building
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses, community leaders, educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations to expand awareness and support for Gateway Academy.
- Serve as the school’s representative at networking events, conferences, and community meetings to advocate for Twice-Exceptional education.
- Coordinate school tours and outreach initiatives to engage prospective families and partners.
Event Planning & Coordination
- Lead the planning, promotion, and execution of community events, such as:
- YES Day (Autism Awareness Celebration)
- Rooster Run Fundraiser (School & Community Engagement)
- Warrior Summer Camp (High-Tech Summer Program for Twice-Exceptional Students)
- Collaborate with school leadership to ensure events align with Gateway Academy’s mission and goals.
- Oversee volunteer recruitment and coordination for community and school events.
Marketing & Public Relations
- Develop outreach materials, social media campaigns, and newsletters to engage the community and promote school events.
- Work closely with the PR and marketing teams to create compelling stories that highlight Gateway Academy’s impact.
- Represent Gateway Academy in media appearances, interviews, and speaking engagements as needed.
Fundraising & Sponsorship Development
- Identify and secure sponsorships, donations, and grants to support school programs and events.
- Build relationships with corporate sponsors, philanthropic organizations, and community donors.
- Assist in the development of fundraising campaigns and donor appreciation initiatives.
Data Tracking & Reporting
- Track community engagement efforts, event participation, and fundraising outcomes.
- Prepare monthly reports on outreach effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Passion for working with Twice-Exceptional students and promoting autism awareness.
- Experience in community engagement, event planning, fundraising, or public relations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Proven ability to develop sponsorships and funding partnerships.
- Experience in social media management, marketing, and content creation.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related field (preferred but not required).
