Position Summary:
The Supervisor of Community Behavioral Health Services is responsible for leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of behavioral health programming. This role involves direct supervision of clinical and case management staff, program development, quality assurance, and ensuring compliance with state regulations. The Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining service quality, supporting staff growth, and advocating for the needs of the populations we serve.
This position requires local travel to client homes, partner organizations, and other Gateway office locations to ensure continuity of care, support team members, and maintain strong community connections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct supervision and support to a team of behavioral health professionals, including case managers and therapists
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and quality of services provided to clients
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to support staff development
- Review and oversee treatment plans, ensure timely completion of 90-day reviews, and monitor data collection for quality assurance
- Ensure program compliance with Maine state regulations, licensing standards, and agency policies
- Coordinate and facilitate staff trainings, onboarding, and ongoing professional development
- Develop and support culturally relevant community engagement activities and wellness programming
- Advocate for client needs and collaborate with community partners, providers, and state agencies
- Travel to clients’ homes and team member work sites as needed to support service delivery, conduct observations, and provide hands-on leadership
- Participate in audits, program evaluations, and continuous quality improvement efforts
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards
Qualifications:
- Required: Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related behavioral health field
- Preferred: 1 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a human services or clinical setting
- Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and recovery-oriented practices
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Familiarity with documentation and service delivery standards under Maine Care and state regulations
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
