Display Furniture Assembly Technician

We are seeking an experienced Merchandise Assembly Technician to join our team. As a Merchandise Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling and fabricating various components and products in our partnered department stores.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in, furniture assembly, reading simple directions and putting things together. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Looking to hire Merchandise Assembly Technicians in the following areas and states to work in stores like Home Depot , Roses Discount Store, BJ's Wholesale Sellers. Part-time position and potential Full-time positions in the following states;

Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Indiana. Full-Time potential earning very obtainable if you're willing to branch out and provide service in multiple stores.

- Have Valid drivers licenses along with transportation ( MUST SHOW PROOF)

- Must be able to ensure a quality, well-built product

- Be able to follow detailed assembly instructions, guidelines, and procedures

- Communicate and work well with the store management & staff

- Keeping work areas clean, organized, and hazard-free for all team members

- Report on issues, malfunction, missing, or defective parts

- Operate smart phone app to check schedules, update manufacturing status of jobs

- Must be dependable and ready to work when required

- Have access to printer to print invoices

1. Ratcheting Crosshead Phillips Head Screwdriver with bits-

There might be some screws that are too delicate for a power tool.

Some parts may require only a half-turn to get set. Also, if you are

assembling a relatively small piece of furniture by hand, the time

you’ll spend searching for a power drill is not worth it. In this case,

skip the power tools and use a ratcheting screwdriver instead.

2. Flathead screwdriver - A flathead screwdriver has a single blade

that fits into the single slot of a flathead screw. Trust us, you’ll need

this one, too, in a variety of sizes.

3. Impact Driver drill - Also known as an impact gun, this tool is

highly recommended. Why? It’s fast, powerful, and affordable. Be

careful with this one. Ease into the trigger so you have the right

torque otherwise you’ll strip the heads rendering them useless for

your assembly project. Also, be sure to get a replacement battery so

your assembly process doesn’t come to a halt.

4. Hex Key or Allen Key - This is found in most tool boxes and is a

super inexpensive must-have. Its small size enables you to get to

those hard to reach places that bigger tools can’t access. Remember

though, it’s convenient but not an assembly time-saver.

5. Box Cutter or pocket knife

6. Adjustable Wrench - This one shouldn’t have to be explained.

7. Cordless Drill - Be careful with this one. Some instructions say not

to use a drill during your furniture assembly. This is because the

average consumer doesn’t know how to use a power tool properly.

Don't use high-level power. Setting the power too high isn’t

recommended as you could strip bolt heads during your in-home

assembly.

8. Ratcheting Phillips Head Screwdriver - The cross-shaped

depression on a Phillips head screw allows for more torque to be

applied than a single-slot flathead. Having a ratcheting screwdriver

on hand that can handle different sizes is a must for your tool box.

9. Rubber Mallet or lightweight hammer - furniture that use wood

dowels so a rubber mallet is a must-have to link the pieces of wood

together. Metal hammers can damage the pre-made holes in the

particleboard, making the dowels less secure

10. Diverse Set of Bits - You can never be sure what types of nuts,

screws, or bolts you may need to tighten, so no kit of furniture

assembly tools would be complete without a diverse set of drill bits.

The absolute essential screwdriver bits definitely are the flatheads

and Phillips-head. However, it is also wise to prepare hexagonal bits

for the parts that require Allen wrenches and bits for driving nuts.

11. Tape Measure - This one shouldn’t have to be explained.

12. Box Cutter or Pocket Knife - A box cutter with a retractable

blade will make getting into your packages much quicker and easier.

13. Spirit Level - If you are assembling furniture that needs to be

mounted to the wall, a spirit level is a must. It will ensure you mount

the furniture straight and correctly.

14. Combination Pliers - Tackle any small and fiddly parts with

combination pliers. They also make it easy to pull out nails and

dowels.

Assembling grills, rocking chairs, wheel barrows, dressers, Dining table sets, gazebos, as requested by the manager of our associated stores on a daily/weekly basis

- In-home / Outdoor Duties :
Trampolines, Playsets, In-ground and Portal basketball hoop, home gyms, toolboxes and more!

- Show up and complete work required when you make yourself available to work.
