Preschool Custodian

Gateway Preschool and Technology Center is looking for an experienced, full time custodian to join our team.

Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures,
• Clean, dust, wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors and carpets; empty wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs;
• Check and refill soap dispensers, napkin holders and toilet paper holders;
• Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, vacuums, brooms, mops for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.;
• Use ladder when required in work assignments;
• Lock and unlock assigned buildings; secure building when facilities are not in use, checking for unlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights;
• Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies, use as directed;
• Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and walkways;
• Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an incidental basis;
• Wash interior and exterior windows when needed including mini blinds;
• Wipe down walls when needed;
• Attend to emergencies when needed;
• Attend safety meetings and other related meetings;
• Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.;
• Picking up groceries and supplies as needed from various suppliers;
• Running various errands for the center as needed;
• Follow all center policies and meet all applicable state licensing regulations;
• And assist in other duties as deemed necessary.
• Punctual and reliable

Qualifications:

· 1 – 2 years of professional experience in food service; preferably in childcare or institutional setting.

· Basic math skills for measuring and portioning.

· Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.

· Must clear full background check.

· Must pass health screening.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift 30 lbs.

· Stand for long periods of time

· Move as the position requires

Pay: $8.00 - $10.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift
