We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced bilingual housekeeper cleaner with a deep understanding of antique and art preservation. The ideal candidate will possess excellent cleaning and organizational skills, fluency in both English and Spanish, and the ability to manage delicate items with the utmost care and precision. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of a private estate, ensuring the preservation of valuable antiques and artwork, and offering outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform general housekeeping duties, including but not limited to cleaning floors, windows, kitchens, bathrooms, and common areas, ensuring the home is pristine and welcoming.
Ensure the safe and careful cleaning, dusting, and handling of valuable antiques, artwork, and other delicate items.
Maintain knowledge of proper cleaning techniques for different materials, such as wood, porcelain, glass, textiles, and metals, particularly when dealing with antiques.
Organize and store items with attention to preserving their condition, ensuring that art pieces and antiques are not exposed to damage or environmental hazards.
Collaborate with homeowners to understand specific care instructions for antiques and artwork.
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and ensure they are appropriate for delicate and high-value items.
Assist with laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management, ensuring garments are properly cared for.
Maintain the organization and cleanliness of storage areas, ensuring art and antiques are kept safely and orderly.
Provide bilingual communication (English / Spanish) for seamless interaction with both English- and Spanish-speaking clients, staff, or family members.
Report any maintenance needs or concerns regarding household items, antiques, or artwork to the relevant parties promptly.
Occasionally assist with other duties as required by the household, such as event preparation or care for specialty items.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications :
Certification or training in art conservation or restoration.
Knowledge of high-end household systems, such as security systems, lighting, and temperature controls for art preservation.
Prior experience working in high-net-worth households or with private clients.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift and move light furniture, cleaning supplies, and items as necessary.
Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks throughout the day.
Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
To protect everyone in the home, proof of vaccination against Covid-19 within the last six months is needed. Only applicants with recent vaccinations and who are willing to be further vaccinated preventatively can be considered. Regular vaccination for influenza is also needed.
The candidate must own a car with a clean driver’s license and be covered by automobile insurance.
Normal work hours are Monday-Friday, 8 : 30 am-5pm (including one half hour for lunch).
The property is a non-smoking workplace.
