Job Description
The Senior Accountant is a strategic role responsible for overseeing accounting functions and processes. This position requires explicit understanding of general ledger reconciliations and journal entry processing. The role is responsible for providing AP and AR leadership to the AP specialist, posting transactions and managing cash flow. The position will reconcile monthly payroll, fixed assets, inventory and provide month end support. The Senior accountant will be supported directly by an AP / AR specialist and work alongside the Direct of Accounting.
Responsibilities :
General Ledger Oversight : Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded. Reviewing and posting A / R and A / P transactions daily.
Reconcile financial schedules monthly, including fixed assets / depreciation, inventory and budgeted expenses.
Support the Director of Accounting with month end closing procedures.
File monthly sales / use taxes, as required for each location.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting plus 5 years' experience, MBA preferred
- Experience / background in manufacturing environments and DoD / Government Contracts helpful, but not required
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
- Deltek Costpoint experience helpful, but not required
- High level of attention to detail
- Great communication and interpersonal skills
- Good time management and organization skills
