As a Senior Cost Accountant within the Finance Team, you will play a key role in managing and analyzing the cost structure at our Exton manufacturing and warehouse site. This position is integral to tracking and optimizing the costs associated with producing our medical devices, ensuring accurate reporting, and contributing to operational efficiencies. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support cost-effective decision-making and ensure the accuracy of financial data, including inventory and production costs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Cost Analysis & Optimization : Maintain and analyze standard costs for materials, goods, and production, including developing labor and overhead rates.
- Inventory & Production Cost Management : Collaborate with operations and manufacturing teams to optimize inventory and track variances (material, labor, overhead), product costing, and actual vs. forecasted results.
- Gross Margin Monitoring : Monitor and analyze gross margins on products sold, recommending opportunities for cost reduction and improved profitability.
- Inventory Accounting : Manage monthly inventory accounting activities, including adjustments and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger.
- Month-End Close : Prepare all related journal entries for monthly inventory activities and ensure timely, accurate interfaces between cost / supply systems (CMS) and the general ledger.
- System Management : Oversee and maintain the cost accounting system in NetSuite, ensuring seamless data integration.
- Audit Coordination : Coordinate annual inventory counts with the operations team and support audit processes, preparing necessary schedules for year-end audits.
- Reporting & Forecasting : Provide ad-hoc reporting on COGS and inventory matters; assist in preparing budgets and forecasts, ensuring accurate cost projections.
- Collaboration : Act as the primary point of contact for inventory-related topics with internal operations teams, supporting cross-department collaboration and decision-making.
