Job Description:
Looking for a someone to move in with a woman in her Exeter apartment who is in her 70's, She is cognitive, physically and vision impaired. She has left side weakness/hemi-paresis. The caregiver would be providing assistance with all personal care, ADL's, as well as some daily cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping. We are looking for an experienced, kind, patient, dependable, clean, and responsible non-smoker for the long term to live with the woman and provide care to her. The home care provider should be able to work well with a team and able to communicate any concerns or issues to the family. The home care provider who would have some flexibility for scheduling as there are 2-3 other staff that currently provide care to her. We are seeking someone who can cover 12 to 24 hours per each day or night-time shift, if other staff are unable to cover their shift. Specific schedule is to be determined. Provide transportation to doctor appointments or community activities.
The payment would be a flat rate Difficulty of Care stipend each month.
What is a Home Care Provider?
Home care provider ship is a family setting for adults who are unable to live alone due to a physical or developmental disability. Providers should possess patience, common sense, a genuine acceptance of the person with the disability and the willingness to share a home life with an adult with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
Salary/Benefits:
- $23.00-25.00/hour
- Client would pay rent
Requirements/Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in the developmental disabilities system preferred (will consider applicants with a passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities who have equivalent education and desire to gain experience in the field)
- Medication administration, required by state when medications are to be administered by staff
