Overview
The Tax Analyst-International is responsible for international tax compliance including analysis, preparation and review. This person supports the International group by helping with analysis of foreign earnings, taxes, tax accounting and transfer pricing and in completion of related compliance in connection with GATX foreign subsidiaries and joint ventures.
Responsibilities
- Compile, analyze, and prepare U.S. tax reporting for foreign and domestic businesses including Forms 1120, 5471, 8858, 1065, 8865, 1042, 8832, Country by Country Report, and Pillar II Returns and Reporting, Using Excel, SAP, and CorpTax. The Analyst will interact with Business Units in soliciting information. These duties include providing support in connection with audit inquiries by the IRS International Examiner. The work requires relevant technical knowledge, strong organizational, time management and communication skills.
- Prepare international income tax compliance and quarterly provision, research and tax accounting. Includes preparing detailed schedules and other workpapers fully documenting information and amounts reported in tax returns as well as quarterly and annual financial statements
- Monitor and remain current on changes to federal, state, and international tax law. Review technical updates related to Pillar II and BEPS reporting. Read professional journals.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 2-3 years of International income tax experience with a major corporation or public accounting firm. Working knowledge of Excel, Word and various tax research engines. Excellent problem solving skills and experience with software support.
- CPA and/or MST a plus but not required.
- Experience with Microsoft office suite applications, and CorpTax (or comparable) tax software required.
- Experience with SAP and/or BNA Tax Analyzer a plus.
As of February 4, 2025, the salary range for this position is $68,600.00 to $89,000. 00. This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs.
This role may be eligible to participate in the Company’s short-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire.
