International Tax Analyst - Chicago, IL
Opportunity to play a key role in an international publicly traded company headquartered in Chicago This is a high-visibility role within the Finance organization. The role will interface with our corporate treasury and finance teams, along with our global finance teams supporting our Global Tax Strategy and Risk. The ideal candidate has a strong International tax foundation, as well as a strong work ethic, critical thinking skills, the desire to drive change and process improvement, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
Duties
- Collect information required for US international tax compliance and assist in the management of outsourced compliance engagement.
- Prepare and/or review workpapers relating to E&P, Sub Part F, foreign tax credit pools, and other tax attributes.
- Prepare and/or review quarterly and annual domestic ASC 740 tax provisions, including the application of FIN 48 for foreign entities.
- Assist foreign controllers with local country income tax audits & tax-related matters
- Collect and review the information required for Transfer Pricing documentation & analysis, such as intercompany agreements, financial statements, etc.
- Prepare and/or review intercompany calculations such as royalties & management fee.
- Collaborate with non-tax personnel in researching tax-related inquiries and communicating taxation (withholding tax & VAT) of foreign client contracts & invoices.
- Respond to queries from Corporate Accounting & external auditors for quarterly & year-end audit.
- Engage in special projects, including tax planning, provision, forecasting, research and documentation.
- Research technical international tax matters and prepare memoranda to document conclusions.
- Monitor that all filing deadlines are met in compliance tax calendar.
- Monitor and analyze tax legislation and communicate impact to senior management.
Requirements
- 5 years of significant International tax experience with public accounting or large multinational corporation
- Proven experience with US International income tax compliance (Forms 5471, 8858, 1118, etc.) & Tax Reform (GILTI, FDII, BEAT, 163j, etc.)
- Project management experience
- Transfer Pricing experience – IRC §482, local country regulations, & documentation requirements (Master File, Local File, & Cbcr)
- Proven experience with ASC 740 (Accounting for Income taxes)
- OneSource Tax Provision Software experience preferred
- Solid financial accounting/GAAP background preferred
- Basic experience with foreign indirect tax (VAT/GST)
Your Education Should Be…
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from 4-year college or university is required
- Master’s degree preferred
- CPA (or CPA track) preferred
