As Venterra continues to expand, we are on the lookout for a Graduate Civil or Geotechnical Engineer to join our Design Service Line. The Venterra Design Service Line incorporates the design and analysis of foundations and substations for Floating and fixed Offshore Wind, Monopiles and Jackets, T&I, Onshore and Offshore substation design and Onshore Renewables. The selected candidate will be employed through Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions and will work from our Edinburgh office.
Role Description
As a graduate civil or geotechnical engineer you will be working closely with a talented team of engineers and scientists to help us deliver safe, innovative and optimised solutions. You will work on a variety of our onshore projects across infrastructure, development and renewable energy.

Offering advice, consultancy support and engineering expertise, our team of specialist engineering consultants is focused on developing the most sustainable design solutions for our clients.
With a foundation in geoscience and geotechnical engineering, our expertise has grown to include foundation design, cable engineering and general civil infrastructure design, as well as environmental science and emerging energy technologies.
We are committed to supporting projects that contribute to the global sustainability agenda, such as enhancing infrastructure for climate change resilience, supporting offshore wind developments, engineering onshore wind infrastructure and assessing the carbon footprints of conventional civil schemes.

Key Responsibilities Will Also Include
- Site Supervision of geotechnical and environmental investigations
- Site Supervision of civil and environmental engineering works
- Technical Report Writing
- Supporting senior engineers with production of design drawings, specifications and bills of quantities and tender Assessments
- Preparation of H&S and CDM documentation
- Numerate and capable of using standard data management and statistical tools
- Experience using 3D CAD packages
- Knowledge of piling and foundation designs desirable
- Able to prepare clear and concise technical reports
- Full UK driving license
- Honours or higher degree in civil engineering
- Candidates should be willing to travel to and work on remote sites away from the office location.
- Committed to personal development and keen to progress to an appropriate chartership.
