The Student Nurse Technician provides direct patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse while gaining valuable clinical experience. Student Nurse Technicians have the opportunity to work with a variety of patient populations to expand their clinical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Enrollment in an accredited RN or approved LPN Nursing Program required
- Completion of 1 semester of clinical experience involving hands-on patient care required
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) CPR Certification required
WORK SCHEDULE: Per Diem/Varied Shifts, minimum hours required: 32 hours per each six week schedule, 8 of those hours must be a weekend shift, one winter & one summer holiday
Gaylord nursing units offer a variety of skills such as:
Milne Units: Step down/progressive care unit of level of care includes:
- Continuous telemetry monitoring
- Ventilator support and weaning
- LVAD patient population
- Heart Transplant population
Lyman 1 & Hooker 1: Medical Units offer skills such as:
- Stroke
- Complex wounds
- Telemetry
- Pulmonary care
Lyman 2 & Hooker 2: Specialty Units are CARF Accredited with a focused patient population:
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Stroke
- Spinal cord Injury
