Under limited supervision, manages, trains, recruits, coaches and develops room and board billing staff. Oversees all billing and collection functions for nursing home pass through room and board billing. Implements, reviews and modifies all work related to room and board billing. Responsible for monthly reviews of all nursing home AR (accounts receivable) presented to the Associate Director of Revenue Cycle.
Education

Education

Experience
- At least 5 years of professional financial reimbursement, claims billing/collections, and analysis experience is required.
- 3-5 years supervisory/management experience is required.
- Oversight in Medicaid claims processing experience is preferred.
- Previous nursing facility billing experience preferred.
- Healthcare related finance background is preferred but not required.
- Effective at supervising, monitoring daily work activities, evaluating, training, and motivating performance of subordinate technical, professional and billing support staff.
- Effective organizational and problem-solving skills are required to develop/implement efficient work processes and to successfully resolve difficult, conflict-oriented situations.
- Ability to multitask, set priorities and manage time effectively.
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- Highly proficient data analytic skills required. Ability to organize, combine, filter, and perform calculations on large datasets.
- Highly effective computer skills that include the following applications: MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint. Proficiency in Epic is preferred.
- Highly effective in claims resolution.
- Ability to develop and maintain good rapport with nursing facility staff.
- Collaboration with our business development team.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to our multiple facilities.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible to maintain staffing, including interviewing, hiring and training new staff.
- Responsible for managing and overseeing personnel activities for direct reports, including timekeeping/scheduling, performance management, and other related functions.
- Facilitates on the job training. Ensures staff is adequately and appropriately trained on all facets of the room and board billing. Monitors the quality of work performed and provides feedback to staff as necessary. Conducts billing observations, error tracking/follow up, and performance appraisals.
- Collaborates with business development managers ongoing and provides feedback where necessary.
- Monitor and reviews Medicaid Remits for accuracy and payment processing to facilities. Reviews and sometimes prepares the room and board spreadsheet to AP for payment to the facilities.
- Facilitates meetings with nursing home billers to ensure accurate billing and payments.
- Oversees inpatient room and board billing.
- Travels to our inpatient units to facilitate and support clinical staff in room and board payment discussions.
- Oversight in escalated inquiries from patients, families, facilities, and any concerns related to room and board billing.
- Performs room and board biller duties in time of need and during absence of scheduled employees.
- Oversees MHRT Billing and timely payment submission to AP for processing.
