Electrical Journeyman
Job Description:
An electrical journeyman is a highly skilled and experienced electrician who plays a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. They are responsible for ensuring that electrical work is conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform electrical installations, including wiring, circuits, and distribution systems, in commercial and industrial settings.
- Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions, identifying and resolving issues with wiring, components, and electrical systems.
- Participate in new constructions projects, collaborating with architects and contractors to plan and implement electrical systems that meet project specificities.
- Conduct routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to plan and execute installations and repairs.
- Provide guidance and training to apprentice electricians and junior team members as needed.
- Be available for on-call or emergency response work when necessary.
- A minimum of 4-5 years of field experience as an electrician.
Job qualifications:
- 1-2 years experience required.
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship program and state electrical licensure as a journeyman electrician.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, regulations, and codes.
- Familiarity with various electrical systems and components, including lighting, wiring, panels, and controls. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or as a part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maneuver heavy objects, some weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Follow and carry out instructions with minimal supervision.
- Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
- Must be able to work outdoors with high and low temperatures.
Schedule:
Full Time, Monday-Friday, Weekends as needed, Possible Holidays.
