What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traffic Control Specialist position at GDC Inc.?
Job Description: In this role you will work with construction teams to ensure that automobiles and pedestrians do not interfere with or pose a danger to field service workers and their projects. There are no formal education requirements for traffic control technicians; however, a high school diploma is preferred.
Position Requirements
- Must have a valid drivers license.
- Must be able to travel to a variety of worksites
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening test, and follow up tests.
- Must complete and become certified in basic Traffic Control Safety Training (provided at GDC Inc office )
- Must have the ability to lift and carry heavy objects (50 pounds), walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under all weather conditions.
- Must have the ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Must possess a cell phone with data access
Position Responsibilities
- Install temporary work zones utilizing warning signs, traffic cones, barrels, etc. according to the regulatory requirements.
- Load and unload work zone equipment.
- Performs shop work as required including preparing orders, cleaning and repairing equipment, and general housekeeping.
- Keep company equipment clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns.
- Complete all required paperwork in a correct and timely manner.
- Comply with all GDC’s Safety policies, procedures and safety requirements.
- Ability to professionally interact with supervisors, coworkers, public, subordinate employees, other contractors, and governing authorities.
- Ability to work independently and in groups in order to complete daily activities.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
