How You'll Create Possibilities
Manufacturing Operations:
- Oversee the entire value stream within the plant, ensuring alignment with overall plant goals.
- Develop and implement the annual operational plan for the value stream.
- Lead a cross-functional team, including salaried and hourly team members, to achieve key performance metrics.
- Utilize production line boards to monitor performance, identify issues, and ensure effective communication across shifts.
- Maintain technical knowledge of operations and follow escalation processes to address abnormalities.
- Ensure adherence to Lean manufacturing practices and standardized work processes.
- Manage department metrics and budgets, preparing daily reports for production meetings.
- Conduct daily start-up meetings and ensure effective communication through team meetings.
- Champion the Appliance Production System philosophy and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead problem-solving efforts and root cause analysis for inefficiencies within the value stream.
- Engage cross-functional teams to address and resolve operational issues.
- Identify and reduce waste through short-term and long-term improvement initiatives.
- Lead kaizen events and ensure implementation of countermeasures.
- Provide active leadership to a cross-functional manufacturing team.
- Set goals and provide career coaching, performance feedback, and training for team members.
- Participate in performance reviews and manage disciplinary actions in partnership with HR.
- Recruit and develop future leaders for the business.
- Ensure defect-free products are produced according to specifications.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with the Manufacturing Control Plan and quality standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing management, particularly in shift operations.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
