Are you ready to take on a critical role in ensuring smooth production and logistics operations? GE Appliances is seeking a dedicated Material Planner to manage raw materials and purchased components in a high-speed manufacturing environment. What You'll Do
- Coordinate material planning to ensure parts are ready for production, solving problems proactively with suppliers.
- Lead initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy, reduce excess/obsolescence, and streamline logistics.
- Drive logistics improvement projects, including RWIP reduction, supplier capacity analysis, and returnable packaging upgrades.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, working closely to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Partner with scheduling teams to minimize the impact of supply shortages and schedule changes.
- Support the phase-in and phase-out of product models to ensure smooth transitions and prevent downtime.
- Assist with cycle counting to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Create and implement innovative processes to optimize supplier performance and reduce production disruptions.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in supply chain management.
- Proficiency with MRP systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An understanding of manufacturing and supply chain concepts.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with flexibility and sound judgment.
- Proven relationship-building skills with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Familiarity with the appliance industry is a plus.
