The Welder & Fabrication Specialist performs production work according to customer requirements, including welding and basic assembly operations, within a Lean Six Sigma environment. This position is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding components for Standard Vessels, Heat Exchangers, and Standard Compressor Packages to meet required specifications and budgets.
Responsibilities / Tasks
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Standard Vessels And Heat Exchangers
- Perform all operations in the manufacture of standard separators, receivers, and heat exchangers.
- Learn and develop welding skills, including:
- MIG root with backing ring, pulse fill, and cover (6G test)
- Open root TIG fill and cover (6G test)
- Assemble and weld sub-assembly parts.
- Install parts and components as required.
- Weld internal and external parts with precision.
- Install heads and perform sub-arc welding.
- Sub-arc wrappers.
- Assemble and weld supports, legs, and angles.
- Assemble and weld water boxes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Perform all operations in the manufacture of standard compressor packages.
- Assemble and weld sub-assembly parts.
- Install package components.
- Assemble, weld, and install system piping.
- Assist in training less experienced employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in pipe welding, with the ability to qualify in a 6G test for MIG, Pulse, and TIG welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team oriented, Lean Six Sigma environment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
