Description:
POSITION SUMMARY: The Banquet Coordinator is responsible for taking sole ownership of all Catering Events at Market Street Grill / The Ivy Room.
REPORTS TO: General Manager
SUPERVISES: Front of House Staff
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Field all inquiries / reservations for catering and large party operations.
- Obtain necessary off-site permits.
- Utilize software to plan the layout and logistics of all catering events, including set up, tear down, reset and communication with the kitchen.
- Ensure the staff is trained with appropriate serving etiquette and customer service skills.
- Be present on the floor to set the tone for service during the event.
- Welcome clients upon arrival and assist with all aspects of the event.
- Monitor the inventory of supplies, equipment and furniture and communicate needs accordingly.
- Develop relationships throughout the community to cultivate the catering business.
- Maintain ServSafe standards and procedures.
- Enhance an engaging work environment for staff by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations.
- The typical work week will include nights and weekends.
- Regular and timely attendance is an expectation of the position.
- Follow the 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- A degree in Hospitality or related work experience is required.
- ServSafe Certified or the ability to obtain it.
- Valid Alcohol permit or the ability to obtain it.
- Valid driver's license is required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

- Physical Requirements: Medium work. Exerting up to thirty-five (35) pounds regularly and up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
- Visual Acuity: ability to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned including to make general observations of facilities.
