What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Mechanic - C Tech position at Gebhart Holdings?
POSITION SUMMARY : The Diesel Mechanic - C Tech will work alongside our team of shop employees to maintain fleet vehicles / assets and increase the efficiency of Wabash Trucking's maintenance department.
REPORTS TO : Service Shop Supervisor
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
Maintains a basic knowledge of a vehicle's mechanical and electrical systems to perform preventative maintenance and repair functions.
Vehicle preventative maintenance inspections and adjustments.
Oil changes and fluids replenishment.
Adjustments and light repairs including tire changes.
Basic electrical work.
Visual inspections to identify potential issues and identify the sources of malfunctions using a variety of tools.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :
ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T-1 through T-8) are a plus but not required.
Valid Driver's License required.
COMPETENCIES :
Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
Ability to read service and repair manuals.
Ability to read work orders.
Ability to perform repairs in a timely manner.
Ability to complete required paperwork to document work and parts utilized.
