Summary
The Value Creation Director at GEHA Ventures is responsible for amplifying the value of our venture portfolio by nurturing and expanding relationships between our strategic partners and portfolio companies. This role is pivotal in initiating, scoping, managing, and evaluating pilot projects, along with driving business development and operational improvements. The ideal candidate will excel in fostering synergies between partners and portfolio companies to enhance growth and achieve strategic objectives.
Duties
Strategic Relationship Management and Development:
- Function as the primary liaison between GEHA’s strategic partners and portfolio companies, building and maintaining robust relationships.
- Lead the development of pilot projects, from ideation to execution, ensuring alignment with strategic goals of both partners and portfolio companies.
- Facilitate discussions and negotiations to define the scope, objectives, and deliverables for pilot initiatives.
Value Creation through Business Development and Partnership Management:
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to drive value for portfolio companies via partnerships, collaborations, and operational enhancements.
- Oversee the management of pilot projects, ensuring they are executed effectively and meet the defined objectives.
- Evaluate and track the results of pilot projects, providing insights and recommendations for scaling or optimization.
Operational Support and Excellence:
- Provide portfolio companies with operational guidance, helping them develop scalable processes and best practices.
- Assist in implementing operational strategies to boost efficiency and performance.
- Regularly review and assess the operational health of portfolio companies, offering constructive feedback and solutions.
Collaboration and Cross-Functional Synergy:
- Collaborate with various internal teams at GEHA, such as finance, marketing, and IT, to ensure comprehensive support for portfolio companies.
- Promote seamless communication and cooperation between portfolio companies and relevant GEHA departments.
- Engage in cross-functional teams to tackle complex issues and leverage new opportunities.
Analytics, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement:
- Develop metrics and reporting frameworks to measure the success and impact of business development activities and pilot projects.
- Analyze data to guide strategic decisions, providing insights into portfolio performance and market trends.
- Continuously refine and improve pilot project strategies based on results and feedback.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Operations Management, or related field; MBA or equivalent is highly beneficial.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, operations management, or similar roles, with a preference for experience in startup environments. Preferred: Former start-up founder.
- Proven experience in developing, managing, and scaling pilot projects.
- Strong skills in relationship building, negotiation, and project management.
- In-depth understanding of business operations, growth strategies, and pilot project dynamics.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficient in business software and analytics tools.
- Advanced leadership skills, combined with the ability and willingness to be an individual contributor as well.
