Position Overview
Reporting to the Director, Procurement, the Purchasing Coordinator is a key role within the Supply Chain Team. This role provides support for the purchasing of packaging, ingredients and other supplies used in production, vendor management, and ERP system maintenance.
Job Responsibilities
- Create and process purchase orders in line with internal and external requirements
- Maintain adequate inventory levels for materials based on predetermined stocking parameters
- Facilitate purchase order maintenance as necessary with pricing and lead time confirmations, past due order follow up, closing jobs and any other maintenance as necessary
- Support logistics team with contracting freight aligned with pending purchase order delivery
- Manage new supplier setup process
- Update and maintain ERP and vendor management systems (pricing, lead time, supplier information, discontinuations, etc.)
- Complete projects and assignments such as supplier performance, inventory movement, excess and obsolescence, change control, etc.
- Support process improvement initiatives and new project launches in partnership with all internal and external partners
- Track and process claims and complaints with supplier materials as needed
- Works closely with others on the procurement, supply chain, planning and operations teams
- Manage part code setup and activation
- Support quality requirements for new items and existing item maintenance
- Manage and Support information tracking and data collection
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- 0-3 years Supply Chain Planning and Purchasing experience.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently, under pressure, and react quickly to changing priorities
- Basic knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application.
- Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills (oral & written)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- An enthusiastic self-starter with a strong drive to improve existing processes and systems is highly desired. Excellent organizational skills are a necessity
Preferred Qualification
- ERP systems experience highly desired
- College coursework in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business and or Industrial Technology
