Machine Operator-Wet Goods Opener

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machines, ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently.

Job Summary:

To oversee the opening of fabric according to safety and Gehring procedures; To oversee successful
preparation of fabric for the Kenyon Frame ; To be available for other tasks.

Qualifications:

High school diploma preferred, GED accepted
Good reading required
Good attention to detail; Good organizational skills
Good communication skills
Professional manner and appearance
Good judgment with independent decision-making skills within Gehring procedures

Requirements:

Ability to work well with others; Ability to step in and perform any task as necessary
Ability to use a sewing machine
Ability to sit, stand, walk for lengths of time; Ability to climb stairs
Ability to lift, push, pull, move 100 lbs sporadically throughout shift
Ability to operate a electric pallet jack as needed
Ability to perform tasks as a moderate pace
Ability to creatively solve problems quickly and independently within Gehring procedures
Ability to work around loud machines, wet floors, steamy environment
Ability to diff use tense situations

Responsibilities:

Take fabric from trolley cars to opening machine; use proper tools to open fabric
Review batch cards for specifi cations and ensure accuracy of work
Observe and report any defects in production immediately to Kenyon Frame Foreman
Assist in training as needed
Comply with all safety regulations
Be available to assist with other tasks
Keep work areas clean and clear
