Counsel, Corporate Law - (HYBRID)

GEICO is seeking a skilled, motivated and detail-oriented individual to serve as Corporate Counsel in the Legal Operations, Commercial & Corporate Law Division of its Legal Department. The Corporate Counsel will report to the Associate General Counsel & Corporate Secretary and be part of a team providing broad corporate law support to GEICO’s Finance organization and overseeing the corporate governance of GEICO’s entities. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-growing legal team and to work on strategically important matters. The Corporate Counsel will provide legal advice on a wide variety of matters, including treasury, sanctions, compliance, corporate governance, and regulatory reporting. An ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong judgment, strong research and writing skills, excellent prioritization skills, and an eagerness to be involved in a dynamic company. The ideal candidate must have the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Provide corporate law legal advice to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leaders
• Prepare and review relevant company policies and procedures
• Advise on various compliance initiatives
• Assist with corporate governance of GEICO and its subsidiaries
• Oversee compliance with applicable laws and regulations and conduct legal research and analysis
• Communicate with state and local regulatory bodies
• Manage outside counsel

Travel :

Annual Salary : $148,000.00 - $230,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate / annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
