About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Coordinator to join our team at Geis Companies. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing pre-construction bid documents, analyzing drawings and construction documents, and working closely with project managers and superintendents to ensure smooth project execution.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current and future projects
- Analyze drawings and construction documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates internally
- Manage the release and distribution of bid documents, and review and tabulate bids to prepare estimates used by the sales and management team
- Assist project managers and superintendents in planning, organizing, and scheduling project work
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of five years in Construction Management or related discipline, preferably with a Design Build Contractor
- Knowledge: Materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction industry
- Communication skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal
- Labor and commodity knowledge: Understanding of market labor and commodity conditions and impacts on construction costs
