Job Summary
We are seeking a Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to provide critical speech therapy services, including the assessment and treatment of speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Your expertise will serve as a valuable resource to assist patients in overcoming communication challenges and improving their quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate participants for swallowing, speech, and language disorders.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations within 48 hours of receiving a medical order.
- Document findings either through written or electronic formats.
- Identify needs for cognition, swallowing, speech, and language functions in patients and their families.
- Collaborate with patients and families to establish goals and expectations.
- Design comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Implement therapeutic interventions to restore function and enhance the quality of life.
- Prioritize treatment areas and deliver individualized therapeutic services.
- Administer appropriate clinical tests to monitor and improve patient function.
- Prepare patients for treatment by explaining processes and ensuring comfort and safety.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of clinical services provided.
- Fulfill all discipline-specific competencies and uphold statistical records as required.
- Manage equipment and supply needs while adhering to available resources.
Position Details
This position may require occasional coverage at Geisinger Muncy based on availability.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech Pathology (Required)
- Minimum of 2 years of related work experience (Preferred)
- Certificates: ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence; Licensed Speech Language Pathologist in Pennsylvania
