What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN - Supervisor Ambulatory Quality Optimization position at Geisinger?
The LPN Supervisor Ambulatory Quality Optimization is responsible for managing and coordinating system-level workflows related to quality and policy management systems. Leads implementation of specific strategic initiatives and related lean training activities across the organization. Guides and enables multi-disciplinary teams to identify improvement opportunities, gather data, assess analytics, adopt best practices and implement and sustain changes. Focuses on multi-project initiatives at service line, platform and regional level to achieve improved patient and member experience and quality, increased staff satisfaction, and measurable quality or financial impact.
At least one (1) year of supervisory experience and three (3) years of LPN work experience is required. Previous experience with quality improvement practices is preferred. Joint Commission/regulatory agency preparation, coordination, education, and survey experience is helpful. This role is full-time, 40 hours weekly, and 8 hours per day.
- Works collaboratively with ambulatory clinical teams and division of quality and safety to standardize and optimize quality patient care practices and procedures across the enterprise.
- Coaches and mentors team members to influence and enable a culture of continuous improvement and help drive implementation of the organization’s strategic plan. Creates and fosters change in a rapid, positive, proactive manner.
- Provides employee supervision and supports the daily operations of activities for assigned staff and team members.
- Coordinates work with system stakeholders and relevant regulatory agencies, and other standards of accreditation bodies.
- Facilitates development of key performance indicators to confirm and monitor success. Prepares and submits reports as requested including ambulatory nurse sensitive indicators and system quality indicators.
- Participates in review of adverse patient events and subsequent development of Root Cause Analyses, action plans and implementation of required follow up education and policy modifications
- Identifies trends for actual or potential Quality and Safety improvement opportunities based upon review and analysis of information and data and participates in the design and implementation of improvement and change.
- Demonstrates professional knowledge about improvement and promotes compliance with, professional standards, clinical risk management and patient safety theory, principles, guidelines, statutes and regulations.
- Standardization of ambulatory nursing policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and best practice utilization.
- Responsible for identification, facilitation and implementation of appropriate skills mix according to scope of practice to assure operational performance within Geisinger.
- Oversight of ambulatory staffing optimization initiatives including ambulatory float pool.
- Leads quality-related shared governance activities.
