Nurse Practitioner Physician Assistant - Cardiology
Geisinger's Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the growing cardiology department at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania.
The team provides care in 5 acute care tertiary/ quaternary hospitals, 4 community hospitals, and numerous outreach locations, performing over 10,000 cardiac procedures annually.
About the Role
We are looking for a collaborative and autonomous advanced practice provider who can work with physicians to assess, diagnose, and treat adult cardiac patients referred to the cardiology service.
- Collaborate with physicians to assess, diagnose, and treat adult cardiac patients
- Demonstrate autonomy through patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care
- Orders testing as deemed necessary and remains proficient in interpreting results and prescribing appropriate medication regimen within the scope of practice of the nurse practitioner
Requirements
The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position. Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA.
