Technician II Position in Emergency Department

This role is part of Geisinger's Nursing Support Services, offering a chance to work in a fast-paced environment, providing essential patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

Job Overview:

Responsibilities:

1. Deliver high-quality patient care, adhering to policies, procedures, and best practices
2. Triage patient needs by identifying, observing, and documenting physical requirements, ensuring timely interventions
3. Assist patient care staff with procedures such as phlebotomy, wound care, splinting, EKGs, and blood glucose monitoring, promoting efficiency and safety
4. Perform unit desk clerk functions when necessary, maintaining accurate records and communication
5. Ensure the integrity of specimens according to policy and procedure, upholding quality standards
6. Transport medications and blood products as required, demonstrating attention to detail and safety protocols
7. Monitor safety and suicide risks, prioritizing patient well-being and security
8. Access non-controlled medication storage areas and transport medications as needed, showcasing responsibility and expertise
