ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a AV Support Specialist to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Responsibilities

• Support LANL’s Infrastructure Services Division within the Telecommunications Group which provides video teleconferencing assistance throughout LANL and including Santa Fe, Pacheco locations.

• Provide telecom support for meetings or big events.

• Perform ample proactive solutioning.

• Manage calendars for many rooms (to know beforehand when important meetings are coming up) and checking on equipment before the meeting takes place.

• Handle off-site events including setting up AV equipment such as mics, soundboards, etc.

• Assist with Cisco technology and setup tasks.

• Perform ample technical support on various equipment with very little desk sitting.

• Support individual/independent work as well as assist the team.

• May need to take occasional trips to the other sites as needed.·

• Manages the performance and profile of networked computer systems in support of programmatic activities.

• Provides technical assistance to computer system users.

• Assures computer system configurations conform to Institutional security requirements.

• Must learn job skills and become familiar with Laboratory policies to complete assignments.

Requirements

• Education & Years of Experience – High School Diploma and 1 years of relevant experience

• Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work

• Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed

• Must have AV/teleconferencing equipment setup and troubleshooting experience.

• Must be able to get a Q Clearance because involvement in classified video teleconferencing.

• Must be able to walk and stand for extended period of times (depending on fieldwork and troubleshooting days).

• Must have great customer service skills and work ethic.

The NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons. This lab possesses unique capabilities in neutron scattering, enhanced surveillance, radiography, and plutonium science and engineering (energy.gov).
