Job Overview
The Marketing Director will supply leadership, management, and accountability to develop from the ground up a highly productive marketing department. The early stages of department development will require the director to wear multiple marketing department hats. They will oversee the strategic and operational aspects of the company’s marketing efforts. This role requires a highly skilled professional with strong leadership abilities and a deep understanding of marketing strategies, brand management, digital marketing, and market research. The ideal candidate will drive growth, enhance the company’s brand presence, and foster customer engagement to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the company’s business goals.
- Oversee the creation of annual marketing plans, including budget allocation, campaign schedules, and resource management.
- Lead market research and data analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and opportunities for growth.
- Brand Management
- Oversee the development and positioning of the company’s brand to ensure consistency across all channels and touchpoints.
- Drive brand awareness and ensure that brand messaging resonates with target audiences.
- Monitor brand health through performance metrics, customer feedback, and market performance.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Manage and mentor a team of marketing professionals, providing guidance, support, and career development.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration between marketing, sales, product, and other departments to ensure alignment and maximize impact.
- Set clear performance goals for the marketing team, providing regular feedback and evaluating performance.
- Digital Marketing & Social Media
- Oversee the development and execution of digital marketing campaigns, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media.
- Manage the company’s digital presence, including website optimization, content creation, and social media strategy.
- Analyze digital metrics and optimize campaigns to improve ROI.
- Advertising & Promotions
- Plan, execute, and monitor advertising campaigns across multiple platforms (TV, radio, digital, print, etc.).
- Optimize promotional strategies to drive customer acquisition and retention.
- Manage relationships with external agencies, media vendors, and partners to ensure cost-effective and high-quality advertising.
- Budget Management & ROI Analysis
- Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet strategic goals.
- Analyze marketing campaign results and adjust strategies based on performance metrics to maximize ROI.
- Report on marketing performance, trends, and forecasts to executive leadership.
- Customer Experience & Market Positioning
- Ensure that customer feedback, insights, and expectations are integrated into marketing strategies.
- Continuously evaluate the company’s market position and develop strategies to differentiate it from competitors.
- Enhance customer loyalty through engagement strategies, including CRM initiatives and personalized marketing efforts.
- Public Relations & Communication
- Manage external communications, including press releases, media relations, and crisis management.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to increase visibility and promote thought leadership.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- Experience:
- Prefer 7-10 years of experience in marketing, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in developing and executing successful marketing strategies across various channels.
- Strong experience in digital marketing, brand management, and team leadership.
- Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Expertise in marketing software, CRM tools, Google Analytics, SEO/SEM, and social media platforms.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
