What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Business Analyst - BI Team position at Gen II?
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our Business Intelligence Reporting Team. In this role, you will work closely with key business stakeholders and the development team to translate business requirements into actionable insights through QlikView and Qlik Sense dashboards and reports. The Business Analyst will also be responsible for creating Business Requirements Documents (BRD) and documenting test cases for each requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering: Work closely with business users and stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and gather and document business requirements for Qlik-based reporting solutions.
- Data Analysis: Perform data analysis and interpret key business metrics to drive performance improvements and enhance decision-making processes.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between business users, technical teams, and external vendors to ensure that reporting solutions meet business requirements and expectations.
- Testing & Validation: Conduct thorough testing of reports to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and quality of the data presented.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide ongoing support for the reporting systems, troubleshoot data or report issues, and offer solutions to improve system performance and report functionality.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on Business Intelligence capabilities and best practices and recommend new features or enhancements to improve reporting efficiency and effectiveness.
- Documentation & Training: Document business processes, reporting workflows, and standard operating procedures. Provide training and support to business users on how to interact with and interpret reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3 years Business Analyst experience.
- Basic understanding of Accounting principles required.
- IIBA Certified candidates preferred.
- Experience Business Intelligence/ Reporting, ideally with Qlik platforms.
- Solid understanding of SQL and database management.
- Desired experience in data modeling, data analysis, and reporting.
- Additional experience with other reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable insights.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies is a plus.

The salary range for this position is $105,000-$135,000, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package. Please note that the actual salary offer within that range will depend on the candidate’s experience level.
Work Arrangement

This position will work a hybrid work schedule from one of our New York offices, comprised of a minimum of two (2) days a week in our office and three (3) days remote.
