Gen Re currently offers an excellent opportunity for a Policy Wording and Reinsurance Contract Drafter in our Stamford, CT office. This a hybrid role with two days a week in the office. This is a hybrid role with two days a week in the office.
Role Description
Primary Responsibilities
The Policy
Wording and Reinsurance Contract Drafter performs the following functions:
- Review and draft proprietary and industry policy forms and endorsements.
- Draft reinsurance contracts and endorsements using corporate standard wordings, client clauses, and agreed terms.
- Provide and draft policy form/endorsement wording to address specific client needs.
- Support the underwriting team to interpret policy coverage.
- Work with the Contract team to organize Contract resources.
- Participate in Contract departmental projects.
Additional Responsibilities
- Keep current on reinsurance and insurance industry issues and contract/policy wording.
- Develop specialized knowledge of particular lines of business.
- Collaborate with other members of the Contracts Team, Underwriters, Claims and Legal colleagues to improve wordings.
- Set challenging goals and work to meet them.
- Effectively manage time and meet deadlines.
Role Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of three years of experience in insurance or reinsurance drafting, underwriting, product development, legal, claims or similar position.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to spot errors and inconsistencies.
- Strong ability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced environment with a positive approach.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with colleagues within and across departments.
- Excellent Word skills; proficient in Excel, SharePoint, Outlook
- College degree required.
- CPCU designation or ARe designation a plus.
Salary Range
78,000.00 - 130,000.00 USDThe annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the US and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.
