Position Overview
Genco Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner to join our team. Reporting directly to the President, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing purchasing, coordinating production schedules, and assisting with various supply chain and operational tasks to ensure seamless production and delivery. The role may also involve working on special projects or other tasks assigned by management to support company goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchasing and Vendor Management:
- Source, evaluate, and manage vendors for raw materials and components.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain optimal stock.
- Production Scheduling:
- Coordinate and develop production schedules to meet customer demand and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with production teams to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to resolve delays or resource issues.
- Operational Assistance:
- Support departments with supply chain-related challenges and provide solutions.
- Collaborate with logistics to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers.
- Assist with maintaining accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and inventory.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas to optimize supply chain processes for efficiency and cost reduction.
- Stay updated on market trends and innovations in metal fabrication materials and logistics.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (preferred).
- 2 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, or production coordination (experience in manufacturing or metal fabrication is a plus).
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools (ERP/MRP systems experience preferred).
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication processes and materials is an advantage.
