Description
Basic Functions (or Position Summary):
Schedules the production of assigned parts, assemblies, or tooling as required to ensure continuous safety stock levels and customer orders. Allocates to proper work center or department. Monitors assigned material inventories, tracks progress of production and reviews factors that affect schedules. Makes necessary modifications to schedule. Issues orders to the appropriate department when revisions are made to the schedule.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Reviews M3 build suggestions and releases to approved date.
· Establishes priorities for manufacturing orders as assigned.
· Compiles reports concerning material shortages to apprise production-planning personnel of progress of scheduled work orders.
· Revises schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of workers, parts, material, machines, and equipment.
· Reschedules identical processes to eliminate duplicate machine setups.
· Communicate with Customer Service regarding special needs and order status.
· Reviews inventory of material and parts needed to complete production.
· May assist in the distribution of work orders to departments, denoting number, type, and proposed completion date of units to be produced.

Education and Experience:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Four-year college degree is preferred. Demonstrated equivalent required.
Experience:
1. One to three years prior experience with manufacturing and materials shop floor activity, including production and material position involved with material flow.
2. Experience with MRP systems.
3. Knowledge of production processes/procedures.
4. Experience with standard office computer applications (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.) is required.
Skills:
1. Ability to work independently.
2. Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are essential.
3. Attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.
4. Excellent math skills.
5. Must have good organizational skills.
6. Ability to participate in a Team concept work environment.
