What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Used Part Inventory Specialist position at General Auto Parts and Service?
An individual with automotive repair, part sales or detailing experience would be a great candidate.
Candidate will possess or will be trained to have personal knowledge and skills to perform inventory of all usable used auto parts on a vehicle into our inventory system, utilizing a handheld tablet to inventory fenders, doors, mirrors, engines, transmissions, headlights, and taillights to name a few, take pictures of vehicles and parts and videos of running engines. The work is done primarily Inside. Also check-in newly acquired salvage vehicles as they arrive and perform inventory audits when necessary. Candidate must be willing to work 1st shift. Schedule includes Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Paid holidays and paid vacation. Candidate must possess some auto parts knowledge.
Ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Knowledge of auto parts & general inventory principals
- Experience using personal computer
- Possess a full complement of personal knowledge about auto parts & vehicles
- Quality control, ability to see and identify any imperfections or damage on parts
Job Requirements:
- To inspect and inventory all incoming vehicles as accurately and efficiently as possible.
- To check-in and keep track of all incoming vehicles
- Inventory audits, and quality inspections utilizing accurate and descriptive damage descriptions including damage type, amount of damage, and proper location of damage described to a high level of accuracy in a timely fashion.
- Problem-solving, fast learner with good retention.
- Assisting with pricing where needed
- Performing other duties as assigned
GOALS:
- To keep all vehicles that have arrived onsite inventoried and ready for dismantling & processing of sales orders within 24-48 hours of check-in.
- To maintain 95% or better inventory accuracy. Meaning for every 100 parts that are inventoried 5 parts or less may have errors or inaccurate descriptions due to the inventory process.
- Assist purchasing department in maintaining accurate computer records and updated descriptions of all inventory utilizing audits and quality control inspections including but not limited to indoor and outdoor racking and other storage venues in the warehouse and yard.
