What are the responsibilities and job description for the Alpha Press Operator - 2nd Shift position at General Carbide Corporation?
The Alpha Press Operator works under general direction within a framework or established procedures, is expected to perform a wide variety of skilled or semiskilled press room work. Judgment and initiative are required in making decisions in accordance with established guides.
Requirements:Job Responsibilities:
o Sets up and operates press for pressing operations ensuring line clear procedure completed between grade changes.
o Select proper tooling needed for job.
o Interprets simple drawings, sketches and blueprints of job.
o Performs entry level press room functions.
o Loads and unloads work to the table by hand.
o Select proper powder needed for pressing of products and record accurate information regarding weights.
o Weighs and counts parts being pressed.
o Accurately enters information related to the Press Department into the computer.
o Maintains tooling by cleaning and handling properly.
o Adjusts feed and speed of machine according to size of tooling and material of piece to be pressed.
o Starts machine and operates various controls to perform required operation.
o Checks dimensions of work using measuring tools, such as scales, calipers and gauges.
o Performs routine maintenance and keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
o Responsible for tools and fixtures used in work area.
o Performs subordinate duties related to the Press Room Department.
o Observes all health and safety regulations.
Shift:
Second Shift 2:00pm - 10:30pm
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
