All entry level candidates will be placed in one of the following trades based on business needs at time of hire
- Outside Machinist*
- Works on the submarine doing assembly and shipboard mechanical work that takes place in the shipyard.
- Pipefitter*
- Installs, assembles, fabricates, maintains, and repairs mechanical piping systems that carry liquids and gases under varying pressures
- Outside Electrician*
- Responsible for the electrical wiring of the machines and related equipment supporting many miles of cable in the submarines
- Painter and Sound Dampener
- Preserves the hull and components by sealing the submarines with chemicals and paints to prevent corrosion and protect against the accumulation of marine life
- Laying out & shooting studs, gluing & installing tiles & anti-sweat hardboard
- Shipfitter*
- Responsible for laying out, fabricating and installing metal structural parts, such as plates, bulkheads, frames, foundations, etc. Align and tracks welds structural parts
- Welder*
- Responsible for fusing materials together with a wide range of welding processes
- Sheetmetal*
- Responsible for laying out, fabrication, assembly, and installation of all light gage metalwork which includes air-conditioned ductwork, lockers, cabinets, prefabricated bulkheads, doors and furniture
Required
- Must be a high school senior and graduating by August of 2025
- Must be a US Citizen
- Available to train and work on any shift
- Ability to work at heights, confined spaces and in extreme weather conditions as required
- Possess your own basic hand tools
- Vocational HS
- Ability to work successfully in a production/construction environment
- Applicant will be required to work in a collaborative and team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervision and peers
