Overview
The Virginia Class electrical engineering group has an opening for a highly motivated engineer to serve as a team member in the area of cableways design.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead coordination efforts between system engineering, major area team leaders, program office, design and engineering managers
- Lead coordination efforts between multi-system engineering groups, arrangement design
- Candidate must be organized and able to manage relationship between ships requirements and arrangement compliance, develop and maintain budgets and schedules for various tasks, and coordinate between multiple projects
- Responsible for cost and schedule performance of assigned tasks
- Responsible for managing multiple projects and/or assigned tasks
- Responsible for developing and presenting system information/ status as the design progresses
- System calculations, concepts, arrangement validation, cableway development, and cable routing development
Candidates must be highly motivated, work independently and need to interact with other engineering disciplines, vendors and the design community.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering
- 0-2 years of engineering experience
- Familiar with systems engineering principals
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree or higher by June 2025 in Electrical Engineering
- Background in military applications
- Experience with any of the following: DC power supply design, cathodic protection theory, electric field theory, magnetic field theory, software development, electronics design, lighting, communications
