As Electric Boats backlog and work throughput increase, it becomes increasingly more imperative that the Electric Boat Information Technology (EBIT) organization work the right projects, at the right time, and within schedule and budget in order to support our growing business needs. In support of this goal the EBIT department has established the EBIT Project Management Office (PMO) that is responsible for the management of projects across all of EBIT.
The PMO team is responsible for the following:
- Project, Program, and Portfolio Planning which includes categorizing projects, evaluating projects, prioritizing projects, balancing project portfolios/programs, selecting the projects to fund, determining funding strategies, and authorizing selected projects.
- Providing guidance for project management processes and best practices for EBIT.
- Performance monitoring of all EBIT projects which involves regular project progress updates, as well as monitoring and analysis of project metrics.
- Strategic Planning and Alignment with EB functional areas’ critical business needs.
As the team expands in size and responsibility, the organization is looking for highly motivated individuals to join the PMO Planning Team. The PMO Planning team is a group within the EBIT PMO with the following responsibilities:
- Manage the EBIT Project In-Take Process and Project Review Steering Team
- Develop and maintain the rolling IT Project Plan including project coordination
- Establish, maintain, and analyze EBIT PMO Metrics
- Oversee the EBIT PMO tooling suite
- Financial Management and Reporting for EBIT PMO
- Engage with all functional areas of Electric Boat who seek IT project support
- Coordinate IT resource management plan
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- 1 years of experience working in finance, procurement/supply chain, or project/program/portfolio management
Preferred:
- Experience supporting EB initiatives
- Experience with financial management
- Experience with metrics and analysis
