What are the responsibilities and job description for the Total Ship Monitoring Systems (TSMS)/ SAS Test Engineer position at General Dynamics Electric Boat?
Overview
The Total Ship Monitoring System (TSMS) team is responsible for detecting ownship conditions that require crew attention. The system consists of hundreds of sensors, data acquisition units and processors. The TSMS team supports our products from concept formulation through prototyping through formal design/development through at-sea testing and in-service support.
We currently have an opening for a test engineer. The successful candidate will provide system design, laboratory test and construction support onboard COLUMBIA Class and VIRGINIA Class submarines.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5 years of experience working in a shipyard environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Constructio support experience
- Experience working with fiber cabling and connectors
- Ability to read arrangement drawings, cabling diagrams and design drawings
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
Preferred:
- Active Secret security clearance
