Responsibilities
As a Manager, Tax Accounting, supporting the corporate headquarters of a global, Fortune 100 Aerospace and Defense contractor, you will work closely with senior leadership and contribute to a broad array of projects in a dynamic, team-oriented tax group. You will grow in depth and breadth as a tax practitioner as you contribute to tax provision, compliance, and planning projects that impact our 10 business units.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for delivering reports and schedules in support of quarterly and annual tax provision processes.
- Liaise with financial reporting and attest firm.
- Forge effective relationships and liaison with accounting, and other internal departments to ensure proper reporting of tax effects of business decisions.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements to provision and return processes.
- Compile peer metrics from public financials.
- Assist with preparation of federal income tax returns, including supporting workpapers.
- Support federal, state, and international cash tax payment processes.
- Assist Director, Tax Controller and others as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or Finance.
Experience
- Six-plus years of accounting and/or tax experience in an accounting firm or industry.
- CPA required.
Other Job Specifications
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience with ASC 740 and Sarbanes-Oxley
- Willingness and ability to take ownership of workstreams within tax provision process, keen attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to function independently and wear many hats in fast-paced, collaborative tax department supporting Fortune 100 multinational.
- Demonstrated aptitude for technology and process improvements.
- Familiarity with Tax/Accounting software packages: Corptax Tax & Provision Systems, OneStream, etc., preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel and Word
- Familiarity with Alteryx preferred.
- Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated by start date, unless medical or religious exceptions apply.
- Willing to work in the CHQ office generally Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
