Overview:
The Mortgage Sales Manager will lead the team of Mortgage Loan Originators, overseeing the sales process by setting goals, developing strategies, training and developing staff, building relationships with partners, managing the sales pipeline, and ensuring all compliance and regulations are met.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with realtors, builders, developers, and other partners to generate new business opportunities
- Ensure all mortgage loan origination activities adhere to regulatory guidelines and GECU policies and procedures
- Monitor trends and developments within the market to identify opportunities and adjust strategic plans accordingly
- Drive performance management by setting individual and team goals, tracking progress, providing feedback, and coaching team members to ensure continued development
- Foster collaboration, trust, and accountability among department team members
- Stay up to date on all mortgage products, programs, and underwriting guidelines, as well as GECU’s loan products, to effectively advise members
- Work to enhance and sustain an effective organizational culture by building positive, collaborative, and functional relationships amongst peers and leaders to drive Credit Union initiatives and programs
- High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of mortgage lending experience with experience in secondary market placement
- Minimum 3 years working in a supervisory or management capacity
- Proven success managing a team of Mortgage Loan Officers and executing sales goals
- Passion for creating and maintaining solid working relationships
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with a high level of multi-tasking
- Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically
- Excellent and effective communication skills with a high degree of professionalism
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Ability to maintain confidential or sensitive information
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of mortgage loan processes, regulations and products
