What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler - 2nd Shift position at General Formulations?
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Must have a forklift license to safely operate a forklift truck.
- Daily safety check and forklift checklist needs to be filled out completely and correctly.
- At the end of shift, and at both break times the hi-lo must be plugged in.
- Clock in upon arrival, also punch into material handling and clock out when leaving GF property.
- Understand Part Tracker in the Epicor Software.
- When material is taken off a pan or out of a blue rack, they must be put away to a location that is available and transferred safely and correctly. Material will be transferred in the Epicor Software so that roll can be located when needed.
- Must have awareness of surroundings and be able to pay attention to details.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED and manufacturing experience preferred but not necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and lifting.
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
- Must be able to traverse facility on unforgiving surfaces.
- Must be able to work in hot and cold climates and in an environment with various noises.
Safety Requirements:
- Must wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE): Safety Glasses must be worn while in the production areas.
- When driving the forklift, proper forklift safety rules must be used at all times.
- Must wear work appropriate apparel. No hoodies, open toe shoes or head/earphones.
- Must use proper lifting techniques.
- Must Use proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) rules for mechanical issues.
- When using chemicals, must replace them in the original container and be labeled to identify the contents inside.
- Must make sure there is at least one person who knows where you are always in case of fire or natural disaster as part of the buddy system.
