General Kinematics is the premier manufacturer of vibrating equipment for the processing of bulk materials. From vibratory feeders to entire process systems, General Kinematics creates the solutions customers require to process even the most difficult materials.
We are currently looking for a qualified Small Parts Fitter to join our team who possesses the knowledge and skills to be responsible for tack welding steel parts to produce a quality weldment. Additionally, this position requires working within a team environment with other areas such as Engineering, Quality, and other areas within Production.
Job Responsibilities
- Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision.
- Produce weldments per drawings using good workmanship practices.
- Working in conjunction with procedures and drawings determine the fit-up required and complete the operation soundly and without distortion.
- Ensure that all equipment is set up, used and left in a safe and clean manner. Alert Maintenance of any anticipated repair needs.
- Ensure that parts are directed to the appropriate area.
- Ensure proper labeling of all weldments.
- Ensure that all weldments are properly inspected for compliance with all applicable tolerances.
- Operate overhead crane and drive forklift.
- Be aware of the importance of using correct lifting techniques.
- Fully support the Company’s ISO objectives, policies, procedures and the GK SCOPE program.
- Comply with and participate in training on all safety rules.
- The willingness and physical ability to work on our equipment which can include climbing ladders, crawling under objects and lifting in excess of 70 pounds.
- The willingness to work from existing policies and procedures and the ability to build technical knowledge.
- The ability to resolve routine problems by identifying and analyzing problems logically and comprehensively.
- The ability to take ownership and show support for workplace initiatives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of one (1) years of wire fed MIG welding experience.
- Must have adequate tools to complete assigned duties.
- Successful completion of an internal welding test.
- Successful completion of an internal welding test.
- Mechanical aptitude.
