Position: Business Office Manager

Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary
Responsible for processes related to claims management, accounts receivable follow-up; denial tracking, and maintaining departmental policies and procedures.
Supervisory Responsibility:
None
Position Qualifications:
- High School diploma required
- Minimum of two to three years of medical billing or equivalent experience required; Behavioral Health experience preferred.
- Hospital Inpatient experience preferred
Key Responsibilities / Job Accountabilities:
- Patient Insurance Eligibility and Behavioral Health Benefits verification via payer portals and telephone interactions
- Knowledgeable of criteria for Medicare, Medicaid, HMO and private insurance coverage.
- Communicate daily with insurance carriers, patients, office staff, and other third parties to collect outstanding balances due, resolve disputes, denials, and general nonpayment issues.
- Upfront Collections * Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
Additional Skills / Qualifications:
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Will need to master additional software including billing software.
- Detailed use of Payer Portals
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must possess above average human relations, customer service, problem solving, and organizational skills. Must be able to work under time pressures and manage multiple demands simultaneously. Extreme attention to details is essential.
- Excellent telephone and communication skills are necessary. Must be a team player willing to share information and work cooperatively with other members of the management team and caregiving staff.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems effectively and efficiently.
- Execute various paperwork, like information files processing, and other daily administrative tasks.
- Maintain an efficient, organized work environment.

English is the primary language of the facility. Ability to read and write, communicate clearly with coworkers and customers and to respond to appropriate questions regarding work process or work product.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals as appropriate to the position.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral and/or diagram form. Ability to define and solve problems and collect data.
