QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred

Experience: Two years of experience preferred.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for completing the following duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.

The person holding this position will serve as Housekeeping-Sitter and will perform various housekeeping/Sitter duties as outlined below. The person holding this position will sit with service recipients during appointment wait times and perform duties as outlined.

HOUSEKEEPING-SITTING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The person holding this position will perform the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping department in accordance with current federal, state and local guidelines, and regulations governing the facility. Will assure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner. The person holding this position will stay in the lobby with the service recipients during appointments. This person will assure the safety of these SRs. This person will make sure that the SRs have his/her appropriate snacks and smoke breaks.

Functions:
1. Sit with service recipients in the lobby during appointments at MHC.
2. Take SRs on smoke break in the designated smoking area.
3. Ensure that the SRs get his/her snacks.
4. Complete work orders as necessary.
5. Keep documents shredded.
6. Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments and established housekeeping procedures.
7. Assure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner.
8. Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment and supplies.
9. Assure that established infection control practices are maintained when performing housekeeping tasks.
10. Clean/polish furnishings and fixtures in the facility.
11. Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures.
12. Clean windows and mirrors in the entire facility.
13. Clean floors including sweeping, dusting, mopping, and disinfecting.
14. Clean carpets including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
15. Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, and spot cleaning.
16. Discard trash into proper containers and reline trash cans with plastic liners.
17. Report all hazardous conditions or equipment.
18. Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored at all times, including before leaving areas for breaks, meal times, and end of the work day.
19. Report burned out light bulbs, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights to supervisor as soon as practical.
20. Keep work/assignment areas free of hazardous objects, such as protruding mop/broom handles, unnecessary equipment, supplies, etc.
21. Follow established fire and safety policies and procedures.
22. Perform other duties or tasks assigned by the supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Stands and walks most of the working day.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Must have a genuine interest in working with mentally ill persons. Must possess a willingness to conform to unusual situations. Must take initiative in maintaining facility in state of good repair. Works under minimum supervision performing daily duties. Travels throughout the facilities and grounds; trips into the community for equipment and supplies.
